In 1951 the offices of the United States Information and Education Services (though this title cannot be found on Google) in Iran was located in Shah-Abad avenue (currently known as Jomhouri).

This office and the offices of three other institutions (American Centre, United States Library, and United States Children’s Library) were located across the street from the famous Café Naderi. This collection of photographs shows ordinary Iranians looking at the pictures of the life in the United States presented at the window of the office.
