“Ketabe Jom’e” (meaning “Book of Friday”) was a weekly journal of politics, literature and art that was published between July 26, 1979, and May 30, 1980. The prominent Iranian poet, Ahmad Shamloo, was the editor-in-chief of the journal.
“Th[o/e]se Days” is a new collection of photos by Shahin Shahriari & Sina Bagheri. For this collection, they had used pictures of the Iranian Revolution of 1979 and merged them with the new shots of the same spots in Tehran today.
Old post cards of Ayatollah Khomeini, published in the early years of the Iranian revolution (1978-1979).
Here are a few examples from the newly launched permanent online exhibition, “Graphics of Revolution and War: Iranian Poster Arts.” The digital exhibit showcases posters from the 1979 Iranian Revolution and the Iran-Iraq War (1980-88). Along with the introductory essay, thematic sections, and poster descriptions, the website also provides additional commentary (including information about the provenance of the poster collection at the University of Chicago) as well as poster artists’ information and further bibliographic resources.
